Lime Softening Lime enhancement trial (Ohio)
ASI started a trial of its patented lime slurry process at an Ohio drinking water plant. The plant had an on-going history of slaker equipment and piping fouling. As a result the plant would take the equipment off line every 2 weeks for cleaning. The equipment was cleaned prior to starting the trial. After 29 days, the equipment was taken out of service for inspection. It was washed with a garden hose to bare metal clean and placed back into service. Lime reduction estimates are in the range of 30 to 40% with improved water quality. After 43 days, the slurry piping was inspected and the grey PVC pipe was visible without any scale evidence.
